The Survey and Land Registration Bureau is the governmental body in charge of land, aerial, and hydrographic survey services, and the registration of real estate properties in the Kingdom of Bahrain. SLRB Main Objectives:


Protecting the stability of real estate property ownership.

The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) was officially formed with the issuance of Royal Decree 69/2017. RERA will deliver on the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to:

Professional indemnity (PI) insurance policies cover your business against mistakes and breaches (whether they are founded or not), as well as the cost of legal fees, claims of damages, investigation, and, in some cases, defending your business’ advice and conduct. According to the new RERA regulations, Real Estate Professionals are advised to enter into a Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme. This scheme Is currently compulsory for real estate Brokers, Valuers, Owners Association Managers and Property Managers.

The Minimum PI insurance cover required for real estate brokers is as follows:

Real Estate Brokerage (Individual): 50,000- BD (mandatory)

Real Estate Brokerage (Corporate): 100,000- BD. (mandatory)

When buying, selling or investing in a property in Bahrain choose a RERA licensed real estate professional and buy from a RERA licensed property developer.

Provided by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Awqaf allows the leaser or tenant to register for both housing and commercial lease contract. A fee of five dinars (5 BD) will be charged for the residential lease, and ten dinars (10 BD) will be charged for the commercial lease. In addition, it allows the applicant to check the details of the registered lease contracts. The law provisions apply on properties and their components that are intended for housing or industrial purposes, commercial, professional, crafting, or any other purposes, as they also apply on the existing lease contracts.
